Today was a cold, snowy, rainy day, and it reminded me of how good sunshine makes me feel. There's nothing better than waking up and opening all the blinds in the house to let the rich sunshine in. It just lifts your spirits and gets you ready for the day.
If you're one of those people who doesn't open the blinds, see the difference when you do. You'll miss it on cold, rainy, snowy days. Promise!
I'm a former teen mother-turned author, professional speaker, and founder of a new nonprofit organization called Generation Hope, which matches sponsors with teen parents from the Washington D.C. and Baltimore areas who are attending college. Our most recent product is The Gloriously Simple Guide to Getting What You Want, a simple and effective five-part process for achieving your dreams. My first book, Glori, is a groundbreaking memoir on my experience as a teenage mother, and it is inspiring people all over the country. My daughter is now 11-years-old, and I am married to my college sweetheart, Donté Lewis. We just had our second daughter in August 2009, and we live in Maryland.
